Entertaining was a gateway drug into wine for us. We built the tasting room to pour wine, sure, but it was also a chance for us to build our dream entertaining space – somewhere to throw parties, fire up the grills on Sunday nights, set gorgeous tables for al fresco dinners, and curate special events for you, our Annual Share members. The summer event series is a chance to slow down, raise a glass and let us entertain you. From highly lauded chefs outside our region to the best local chefs like you’ve never seen them before, to parties all about Rosè, we’re just getting started….read on for Summer ’22 events.
Have you ever wondered what chefs cook for their people? This meal is built around a favorite food and communal eating style that comes with…Ethiopian cuisine! Traditionally served around a table full of friends and including some eating with your hands, this is a food style with rich unique flavors and a whole host of unique wine pairing options. We can only imagine what Chef’s take on traditional favorites like injera bread, samsoe, and others will be. We’ll provide the bibs, yes, really.
If you love Richard’s PNW fare with a southern twist wait until you see what else is in his repertoire…Did you know Richard is a classically French trained chef? For this special evening he will create a menu inspired by elegant French fare with his signature southern touches. We’re so excited to host the Hattaways for another spectacular event at Alton.
We are very excited to announce that Tournant will be back again this fall with a dinner on Friday featuring a seasonal menu cooked over the firepit. On Saturday this year we’re adding a cooking class where guests (limited to 30) will prepare food with the Tournant crew followed by a casual dinner enjoying what we all prepared that evening at Alton.
This year we’re extending Tournant’s visit to include a live fire cooking class for an intimate group (us included!) who want to learn all things about building a beautiful meal outdoors over an open flame. Limited to 30 guests we will work to craft all the food together and then eat together for a casual meal to end the evening. Beverages will be hosted during the class and wine/beer will be for purchase during dinner hour.
Lauded chef, food curator, adventurer and creator of “Not Without Salt”, will be here as our final Chef Spotlight of the season. With a focus on seasonal, often foraged ingredients, Ashley will be fun to watch with the outdoor kitchen setup at the winery and add a rustic element to our fall harvest dinner.
