Entertaining was a gateway drug into wine for us. We built the tasting room to pour wine, sure, but it was also a chance for us to build our dream entertaining space – somewhere to throw parties, fire up the grills on Sunday nights, set gorgeous tables for al fresco dinners, and curate special events for you, our Annual Share members.  The summer event series is a chance to slow down, raise a glass and let us entertain you.

When Ashley first came across Kevin and read “open fire chef at large” we knew we had to get him here. Kevin splits time between Santiago Chile, and California wine country. This past year he tested his skills on Hulu’s Chef vs. Wild. After hunting and foraging all his life Kevin would tell you he prefers an open fire to a stuffy kitchen setting any day. His love of hyper-seasonal cooking is going to be a perfect compliment for June’s farm bounty in Walla Walla. In addition, he’s also an olive oil sommelier so look for that talent to make its way onto the table.

Chef Chad White has a rap sheet of accolades so long it was hard to choose which ones to put here. We’ll start with recent and notable….After competing on Bravo Top Chef season 13 Chad returned to his native Spokane to open Zona Blanca ceviche bar which garnered best new restaurant nods out of the gate. At opening, this was the only ceviche bar coast to coast outside of Cali. Last year Chad landed on the Best Chef NW finalist list for the James Beard foundation, a well deserved recognition of his food and the experience at Zona Blanca. Chad is a community builder and champion for his craft and the industry as a whole. We’ll be honored to welcome him to Alton for a dinner featuring white wines and seafood to kickoff high summer in Walla Walla.

What do you get when Joe and Richard are brainstorming over lunch beers in Hawaii? A rendition of the pig pickin’ like you’ve never seen, island style. Join us for a Luau featuring a whole pig and sides inspired by our winter getaway to the land of aloha. Festive dress is highly encouraged. If anyone wants to show up early and drink beers with the guys we’ll be here all day, watching the pig, as tradition goes. There isn’t much more fun than dreaming up these events with our Walla Walla ohana, other than sharing them with all of you.

After having so much fun working with Matt Dillon last May, we knew there had to be an encore. The idea of seeing his food in a different season, well, we couldn’t resist. Our fall release dinner this year will feature bounty from Matt’s Old Chaser Farm on Vashon Island and likely some local supplements from his friends at Hayshaker Farm. Look for the oven truck to roll back in and create a memorable meal to kickoff the harvest season here in Walla Walla.

If you’ve been to Manolin or Rupee Bar in Seattle then Liz Kenyon needs no introduction. A James Beard Best Chef NW Finalist in 2022, she brings a diverse background with her. After growing up in Montana on her family’s farm she cut her teeth in some amazing restaurants before landing in Seattle to take advantage of the seafood bounty and PNW outdoor pursuits (when she isn’t in the kitchen). Her food is bright, fresh, and inventive.  Liz has an appetite for learning and trying new things so we can only imagine what she’ll pull off in the all-fire kitchen at Alton. Oh, and she’s real nice too.
